HOW DO I WORK MY CD

Right lets get you started, you have got as far as getting the CD running and have access to the folders as you are reading this file J

If you know how to search through folders on your PC, for example looking at your photographs then you will find it easy to navigate this CD and to print of images.  If you don’t then we will explain.

You do not have to install this CD on your computer. This CD is folder based, you do not need any additional Graphics software to view any of the jpg images  - however if you wish manipulate/ print  the single png & single jpg  files you will need a graphics program to manipulate them (This CD does not come with a Graphics program, there are many affordable and easy to use graphics program on the market, may be ask your friends or fellow forum members for their advise on what they use and what they could  recommend to you.

All the printable files are stored in their appropriate folders.  For example you will find you landscape papers in the papers folder.  To view folder contents just double click the folder - if in turn there are more folders inside that folder just double click again to view the contents. Double clicking on any of the images inside the folder will make the image open up in large view.  Normally it will open them up in windows picture/ fax viewer, but this does depend on how your computer is set up to handle jpg files  (it can open them in a graphics program that you already have installed )  If this is the case you will be familiar with the graphics program and you will know what do from there.  If your large view opens up in windows picture/ fax viewer it could not be easier for you to view and print your images. Navigate through the folder using the blue back and forward buttons, you can also enlarge your view using the magnifying glass & best of all print your images using the printing wizard which is standard on all PC’s.

Please note if you try and print the single jpg images from windows picture/ fax viewer your images will be enlarged and possibly cropped to fit the sheet size ( We do not recommend you do this, you need to use a graphics program to re-size and manipulate these files)

Mac users yours will open up in your standard viewing program, this is generally i photo.

PRINTING BASIC HELP.

You will need to know the basics of how to use your own printer before you can start to use this CD. So please make sure you are comfortable with basic printing on your own PC (view your printer help file/handbook or, better still, get someone to show you) before you print anything from this CD.

WHAT CAN YOU PRINT ON TO?

It's most likely that you have an inkjet colour printer and you can use standard 80 gram paper, 160 gram thin card and even vellum to print onto. If you are using a laser printer, you may need to buy specific paper for laser printers. Obviously there are some specialist cards/papers such as high gloss that may not work in your printer so please test your equipment first.

WHAT PROGRAM SHOULD YOU USE TO PRINT?

If you are just printing off any of the A4 sheets then your printer wizard which is standard on most PC’s is adequate to do this job. If you have a scanner or a digital camera - it is almost certain that it will be with a program that allows you to view and print picture files try to choose something you are familiar with using - there is probably someone who can show you a family member, friend, or your local library if you are not sure.

When you have finished using the CD just remove from the draw and put it away for the next time you want to use it.

I have the new Vista system on my PC - will CD's work with Vista - Yes CD's work perfectly with Vista - you may need to run a hot fix for printing ( this is not a fault on the CD but a known problem with Vista) Hot fix information can be found at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934056 - the error message you will get prior to hot fix is Windows can't find this picture.  You might have specified the wrong location or you have lost access to a network location

If you are still having problems or do not have the best PC skills in the world .. may I suggest visiting  your local library there they offer free PC lessons - take your CD along there  and let the experts guide you through opening folders & printing.
